Function:
To provide comprehensive student support services to prospective students. Acts as a College representative at the Education Center. Provides College information to the public. Provides comprehensive administrative support to the Education Center Director in promoting partnerships within the surrounding education center community.
Organizational Relationship:
The Education Center coordinator reports to the Directo of the Education Center, who reports to the Dean of Enrollment Services, who reports to the Vice President of Student Services, who reports to the College President.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor Degree preferred or associate degree with 2 years of relevant experience
- Ability and willingness to work independently
- Excellent communication, organizational, and human relation skills
- Must be detailed-oriented
- Excellent customer services skills
- Strong computer literacy with knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, applications, database management
- Commitment to community college mission and philosophy
- Commitment to supporting and participating in student activities and College events
Essential Functions:
- Ferform duties for the benefit of all students campus-wide which are supportive of admissions through completion of education plan
- Provide comprehensive student services to prospective and enrolled students
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of students
- Assist students with technology applications for learning including Canvas navigation, myKC, and other online platforms
- Ensure the proper opening and closing procedures and securing of facility is conducted at the beginning and end of each day as needed
- Act as the College representative in the absence of the Director
- Provide accurate College information to the public
- Supervise student workers, if applicable
- Assist in maintaining equipment and supplies for the education center
- Support students in the acquisition of textbooks and other resources for learning
- Provide supportive services to faculty, students, and community members
- Assist with the development of the community education and KICK classes
- Promote partnerships within the community including libraries, schools, organizations and agencies
- Provide work coverage at other centers as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Position supervises student workers and custodial staff as necessary.
Supervisor Controls:
While consultation with the Center Director are available as necessary, the employee must be ablet o work independently and with a minimum amount of supervision. In addition, the employee must be able to use independent judgement in dealing with and setting priorities for routine responsibilities and challenges that may arise.

Employee is required to follow all Kaskaskia College policies and procedures, local, state, and federal laws. Employee is also expected to adhere to and promote the College Core Values of learning, respect, excellence, access, diversity , integrity and community.
Personal Relationships:
Employee deals extensively with College employees, community members, students and outside organizations on a daily basis.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Scheduled work hours are Monday - Thursday 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM (off Fridays) OR Monday - Thursday 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM and Friday's 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM with some flexibility depending on class schedules each semester. Normal working conditions are located in a busy office environment with frequent distractions and interruptions. Professionalism must be maintained at all times. Lifting of books and supplies up to 50 lbs is required. Occasional travel within the district and for professional development activities is required.
